APIT presents “Watch Portugal,” the new brand that showcases Portuguese audiovisual content to the world

APIT officially launched the “Watch Portugal” brand during its 11th Annual Meeting, held on May 7 at O Clube in Monsanto. The event, which marked the conclusion of a day dedicated to networking and knowledge sharing among leading industry professionals, proved to be the ideal stage to reveal the association’s new identity.

The “Watch Portugal” brand symbolizes the beginning of a new era for the Portuguese audiovisual sector, with a clear positioning focused on the internationalization of national productions and the strengthening of independent production in Portugal. More than just a rebranding, it is a strategic statement that reflects ambition, modernity, and a reinforced vision of APIT’s role as a key player in the sector.

Developed in partnership with Jelly agency over a period of more than six months, this new identity reflects a conceptual evolution for APIT: from an institutional association to a platform that represents, brings together, and promotes Portuguese independent production, both at the national and international levels. “Watch Portugal” stands as a symbol of collective movement, cultural affirmation, and credibility among professionals, partners, and international markets.

The “Watch Portugal” tagline aims to highlight national talent and strengthen the presence of Portuguese productions on the global stage. The brand reflects independent producers’ commitment to the sector’s sustainable growth, recognizing the value of collaborative work in building a more competitive and international future.

Susana Gato, Executive President of APIT, states: “Watch Portugal functions as a statement, an attitude, a concept, and, fundamentally, an invitation.” With this new identity, APIT takes a decisive step toward consolidating the sector and projecting its productions internationally, reinforcing its mission to represent, value, and promote national talent and creativity.
