Following the EFAD’s expressing deep disappointment with the PACE Opinion on the Council of Europe Convention on the co-production of audiovisual works in the form of series, CEPI – European Audiovisual Production Association shares its support to the concerns expressed and reaffirms the importance of protecting independent producers within this framework.
“CEPI fully supports EFAD’s position and calls on the Council of Europe to preserve the original ambition of the Series Co-Production Convention. This instrument was designed to empower independent producers, safeguard cultural diversity, and ensure that European stories continue to thrive in all their diversity” said Susana Gato, CEPI President. “Appendix III of the Draft Convention is necessary to safeguard the recognition of independent producers and provide clarity and fairness for all Member States while respecting their national systems.”
